This painting is meant to convey the sense of history that is important to Airstreamers and the importance of the Jackson Center home base.
On a repair visit to the Airstream Service Center in Jackson Center, a restored and customized 47 Ford Woody towing a 63 Airstream pulled into the parking lot. I took a couple of pictures with my phone that later served as aids to painting Two Belles at Jackson Center. The painting includes some background details that an Airstream aficionado will recognize as elements of the Jackson Center mothership, and most centrally the trailer reflects the Service Center building façade. In the background left is an indication of the facilities across the street for example. The title of this piece refers to the old beauties – the classic car and trailer – and also to the stamp on my photos at 1:00, which on a four-hour watch in the navy would be marked with two bells.
