This piece was created en plein air, on a cold October morning in Christoval, Texas; while camping on the lawn of some good friends. The painting went on to win the Third Place award at the Airstream Alumapalooza 9 Fine Art Invitational.

Patrick creates fine art while traveling North America in an Airstream with his photographer wife, Kimberly. He paints a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, and florals, and is a highly sought after instructor and art judge nationwide.
Patrick has earned numerous awards from nationally recognized art organizations and events, including the Oil Painters of America, the Portrait Society of America, the Laguna Plein Air Painting International, Plein Air Eaton, Plein Air Richmond, Sedona Plein Air, and the Airstream Fine Art Invitational. He has been featured in Plein Air Magazine, and as a cover artist for the Southwest Art Magazine, which named him as one of their "21 Artists to Watch Under 31" early in his career.
Patrick's art has also been featured on the cover of Airstream Life magazine.
