This piece was created en plein air, on a cold October morning in Christoval, Texas; while camping on the lawn of some good friends. The painting went on to win the Third Place award at the Airstream Alumapalooza 9 Fine Art Invitational.

Patrick is a painter who creates while traveling North America in an Airstream with his photographer wife, Kimberly. Patrick’s approach is to free himself from preconceived visual beliefs and interpret the world directly before him. He paints a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, and florals, and is a highly sought after instructor and judge.
Patrick has studied with many renowned painters, including Mark English, Malcolm Liepke, and Wilbur Niewald. He has received numerous awards from organizations such as Portrait Society of America, the Laguna Plein Air Painting Invitational, Plein Air Easton, Plein Air Richmond, Sedona Art Prize, and the Airstream Fine Art Invitational.
